In honor of the 88th Academy Awards, which aired last night, we thought it would be fitting to feature a post on the Waverly Community House’s weekly movie showings. In the 1920’s, on Fridays & Saturdays, the Comm would designate space to show various types of films to the public. Movie night was very popular at the Waverly Community House & residents enjoyed the time to gather together to view the productions with their friends & family.

The Comm remained a popular place to view movies in the Abingtons well into the 1930’s and was a great addition to the newly built space.
